Flexibility in the development and modification of workforce policies is critical to the success of a small business and its employees.  However, over the past few years, small business owners have faced a number of threats to this flexibility, which, in turn pose threats to the vitality of the small business community overall.

  • Protect small business owners' ability to develop, modify and enforce workable sick leave, paid time off, workforce, and other attendance policies
  • Protect small business owners' ability to freely designate management and non-management functions among their staff
  • Protect an employee's right to a private ballot in matters of collective bargaining decisions

    This bill amends the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to expand coverage under the Act, increases protections for whistleblowers, increases penalties for high gravity violations, adjusts penalties for inflation, provides rights for victims or their family members, and for other purposes.
