Founded by the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture (CPAC) and presented by COSE, the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute (AEI) is an intensive business course designed for individuals and arts-based business owners. This program will occur over six consecutive Mondays and will cover topics that impact an artist’s daily operations including:

 

  

  • Establishing SMART Goals
  • Forming an individual action plan 
  • Defining your product or service
  • Protecting your rights
  • Building a marketing plan 
  • Understanding consumers and researching markets 
  • Building a communications strategy  
  • Raising capital  
  • Taxes and insurance  
  • Accounting and Finance  

 

Participants are provided with a comprehensive course book that includes resources and support materials on all topics covered.

Artists of any discipline will find great value in this detailed overview of business fundamentals while connecting with business professionals in the areas of art, law, marketing, research and accounting. Session formats are varied and include a mix of lectures, panels, group discussions and practical exercises.
