What was your “Ah Ha” moment that prompted the launch of your home business?
Quite simply, it was when I lost my “day job.” It was one of the best things that’s ever happened me!
Best thing you have done for your home business?
The best thing I have done for my home business has been to join COSE Arts and Home Business Networks! Truly, since joining (and attending various functions), my business has grown along with my business and social network.
What is something that is truly unique about how you run your business and care for clients?
I haven’t really compared what I do with other businesses like mine to see how unique I am, but I do treat every client on an individual basis, as an individual. I first understand their specific needs and then tailor the quote and job to suit them – specifically.
What is your secret to striking work/life balance?
Don’t know that it’s a “secret,” but my work is my life and vice versa. I mean, right now it is 11:30 pm and I am filling out this questionnaire. But earlier in the day I was preparing food, washing dishes and running errands. E-mails were read and answered at several intervals during the day and everything was dealt with as it needed to be dealt with. So I guess the key is flexibility and adaptability. There are times when the dishes do wait however….
What is your biggest challenge in running a home business?
Trusting the work will come in.
What advice would you have for those looking to start a home business?
You must love what you are doing otherwise you may not be as motivated to work in your pajamas. Of course keeping the bills paid usually is motivation enough, but nonetheless, if you’re heart isn’t in to it, you’ll be in trouble.
