The Gary L. and Karen S. Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing and COSE

The Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) and The University of Akron (UA) have established a new strategic partnership for regional economic development across Northeastern Ohio. By leveraging the core competencies of two of the region’s most forward-thinking organizations, COSE and UA have established a goal of educating, training and supporting business owners to better adapt their marketing efforts to their target markets. To that end, the following short courses have been developed to aid businesses in honing their business-to-business or business-to-consumer direct marketing.

The following course will be offered: Integrated Direct Marketing Communications. Within the course will be two sub-categories: businesses that market to other businesses and businesses that market to customers. All courses will be held at the Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing at the University of Akron. For more information about the Taylor Institute, click here .

Integrated Direct Marketing Communications
This course focuses on the communication tools and tactics used in a successful direct marketing strategy to initially reach and sustain contact with a firm’s best prospects and customers. The primary emphasis is on the functionality of an integrated direct marketing “toolbox” that includes targeted advertising, sales promotion, direct response, public relations and face-to-face presentations. The course will center not simply on outbound activities by the firm but also inbound actions by prospects and clients. At the end of the course, business owners will have a broad and comprehensive view of the resources available to communicate effectively as direct marketers and how to use those resources in the right ways.
